Evelyne Ida Morris

Evelyne Ida Morris (He/Him) is a gifted composer celebrated for their dexterity across multiple instruments and for composition that is complex and structurally adventurous. In 2014, having already released several of their own albums under the name Pikelet, Morris co-founded LISTEN, an advocacy group focused on creating discourse around gender diversity and politics in Australian music.

In 2017, Evelyn Morris released their first self titled album under Evelyn Ida Morris. The album represents a significant departure from the looping pop of Pikelet, for which Evelyn is best known. It builds on the structural complexity of that project, but focuses wholly on piano – huge, wild, racing, dexterous piano. These new works are lush, postclassical compositions, frequently referencing Debussy and Ravel. Thematically, they deal with the experience of being non-binary and making sense of that experience.

Since working on Acute Misfortune in 2018, Morris has been working on two more feature film soundtracks, and a short film by Lucy Knox. Their first feature earned them an ARIA nomination - Australia’s premier peer-selected awards. Reviews for Acute Misfortune identified the soundtrack as having an ‘inimitable air.’

His remakable 2023 double LP 'Extended Air' has been described as an Impressive free flow of ideas over along form.

NP (Jad Atoui and Anthony Sahyoun).

NP is an electronic, experimental duo formed in Lebanon in 2019 by Jad Atoui and Anthony Sahyoun. It reflects on the current political transformation and its imposed uncertainties, as a method to explore musical futures. They have made a name for themselves performing extended experimental music, using guitars, acoustic objects, modular systems and programming. NP collaborated with Joe Saade on video works, having presented a film on introspection through extrospection for Lumens Stockholm. They’re expected to release their second LP in 2025.

Alissar Seyla

Levantine Arab visual artist and writer living on Wurundjeri country. Her art depicts experiences of violence and displacement in relationship with tender or disturbing aspects of nature and cultural fantasy. Alissar shares and performs her work around Naarm and curates Rage Cafe, a quasi-monthly community circle exploring art from South West Asia and North Africa.

R.Rebeiro

Rohan Rebeiro is an experimental musician whose work explores the boundaries of percussion and the potential of music as language. Typified by its highly dynamic and powerfully cathartic expressions of sound, Rebeiro’s work is rooted in deep listening, both to instrument and space. Instruments are used and misused amongst free improvisational and expanded percussion techniques, where silence is often at play with sound. Elements can appear familiar, but these are chameleonic – this is experimentation as a form of communication, with language as an unwieldy, frenetic energy. At its core, Rebeiro’s work forces confrontation with our primal cognitions, creating an ontological discussion towards how we can communicate, and understanding the spaces in which we do so. Whilst seemingly confronting and obtuse, this universal language of rhythm is persistently human, and is illuminated by Rebeiro’s deeply physical work.
