Fundraiser Gig: For Aida
MacCabe Park
Wollongong NSW, Australia
Event description
Join us on Saturday 19th July for a very special edition of our fortnightly rally.
After a Welcome to Country from the incredible Uncle Mark Bloxom we will march to Wollongong Art Gallery for a fundraiser show.
Gazan brothers Seraj and Majdi will perform Gazan traditional and folk music. Seraj and Majdi played with the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music in Palestine for many years before fleeing the invasion of Gaza in 2024. The brothers see their music as a way to nourish connection to Palestine, and to each other, in the face of the violence of genocide.
The show will also feature sets from local acts Bellambi Lane and Ruth Lorelle.
