Fungi for Landcarers
Event description
Fungi for Landcarers
Tuesday 24 June 2025 1.30 - 2.30 pm online on Zoom
Landcarers know that healthy bushland is resilient due to the myriad of interactions between our animals, fungi, plants and microbes. The plethora of benefits fungi provide range from providing essential nutrients to plants, environmental protection and restoration and improved efficiency in agriculture.
Join the WALN Team and special guest, Julie Fielder to discuss all things fungi. A mycologist who has worked with plants and fungi across Australia. Her personal passion is the soil mycobiome, and its ecological relationships with plants and soil chemistry.
Julie is an author of the first practical guide for integrating fungi into conservation and restoration for land managers, Fungi4Land. This awesome project is being spearheaded by Dr Sapphire McMullan-Fisher and Roz Hart. Some of you may remember Roz did a fantastic presentation on their project at our annual gathering at the Wetlands Centre in 2024.
We look forward to seeing you there!
This event is generously supported by the WA Government's State Natural Resource Management Program and the National Landcare Network.
