Saturday 15 November at 3pm.
The Funky Butt Club (aka The Funkies), are genre defying. Their music is a dollop of early jazz and a spoonful of New Orleans music, taking these ideas and mixing them into a kinda jazz/roots soup with pinches of soul, gospel and pop.
Singer Pearl fronts the Funkies, a hot band of improvising musicians using both word and wordless melodies. It's simultaneously furious and touching and loads of fun.
