Future Boards: Governing in the Age of AI
Generative AI is reshaping not only how organisations operate, but how boards govern, manage risk and position for long-term success. As AI capabilities accelerate, directors must navigate a complex landscape, spanning cybersecurity threats, critical infrastructure resilience, energy transition, and evolving ethical expectations. This panel brings together leading experts across AI, cyber, infrastructure, and energy to explore the implications for contemporary governance. The discussion will examine how boards can balance innovation with risk oversight, strengthen organisational resilience, and exercise informed judgement in an increasingly uncertain and technology-enabled environment.
Future Boards events are an initiative of the Colin Brain Governance Fellowship, established in 2007 to further education and research in corporate governance, financial management, and business ethics.
Registration will open at 5:30pm with refreshments, followed by a panel session and Q&A at 6pm.

Panellists
Moderator: Dr David Moffatt, B.Bus QUT, FAICD
David works with organisations where scale, complexity and community impact intersect. Over the past three decades he had led and governed businesses in Infrastructure Services, Telecommunications and Financial Services—often during periods of significant transformation. His focus has been consistent: build resilient organisations, strengthen culture, simplify operations, and create lasting enterprise value. David maintains long-term commitments to education, health and community organisations within civil society, including more than 30 years supporting autism services and over 30 years in a variety of capacities at QUT.
Geraldine Chin Moody, GAICD
Geraldine is a non-Executive Director and board, governance and culture consultant. She has senior executive and board experience across ASX-listed companies, professional services firms, scale-up and for-purpose organisations. She is the Chair of the Tech Policy Design Institute (TPDi), an independent non-partisan thinktank dedicated to tech policy. TPDi works with government, industry civil society and academia to shape technology for the benefit of humanity. As a board and governance principal at Directors Australia, Geraldine specialises in working with boards and directors to improve their performance, dynamics and relationships. As a principal at Swiss-based firm Principia Advisory, she specialises in ethical culture assessments. Geraldine holds postgraduate degrees in law and coaching psychology and is a certified Whole Brain® Thinking and HBDI® practitioner.
Dr Peter Wood
Peter is the Principal and Co-Chair of E3 Advisory and is a former Board Member of Infrastructure Australia. Peter is well known in the Australian infrastructure industry with extensive experience providing strategic infrastructure related advice to the Departmental Secretaries of Governments’ Line and Central Agencies, Boards and CEOs of Government Owned Corporations as well as numerous private sector CEO’s and Boards. He was the lead advisor to COAG (Council of Australian Governments) in the development of various Australian National Infrastructure Guidelines.
Jacqui Walters
Jacqui is a non-Executive Director of Port of Brisbane, Transurban Queensland and Slater & Gordon. She chairs the Capital Structure and Major Projects Committee for Port of Brisbane and the Risk and Audit Committee for Transurban Queensland and Slater & Gordon. Jacqui is also the National Rail Manufacturing Advocate reporting to the Assistant Minister for Manufacturing, Senator Tim Ayres. Jacqui is a graduate and Fellow of the AICD.
