    Future Fit Our Dementia Community: Lessons learnt from recent events
    This symposium will run over 2 days with options to attend one or both days. It is hosted by The Dementia Inclusive Ballina Alliance and The Australian Association of Gerontology (AAG). Other partners include The Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD) and Southern Cross University (SCU). 

    DAY 1 - WHEN:
    Friday 22nd September 2023  TIME: 8:45am - 3:00pm   WHERE: Crowley Care, 154 Cherry Street, Ballina

    This day is for people living with dementia, their carers, advocates and other interested community members. Learn practical strategies about living safely at home and online, ways to remain physically and socially active and update your dementia knowledge. Key presenters include Dr Rachel Jones, Dr Hilton Koppe, Dr Frederick Graham and A/P Margaret MacAndrew.

    DAY 2 - WHEN: Saturday 23rd September 2023  TIME: 8:00am - 4:30pm   WHERE: Ballina RSL Club, 1 Grant Street, Ballina

    This day is for health professionals and other interested community members. Listen to presentations from experts in the field on mental health and dementia, current perspectives on living well with dementia and the challenges and perspectives around supporting people living with younger onset dementia. 
    Key presenters include Dr Claudia Meyer, Dr Hilton Koppe, Dr Frederick Graham, A/P Margaret MacAndrew, Professor Julie Jumeen and Professor Mark Hughes.

    Both days have been designed for attendees to gain practical knowledge, learn about innovative strategies and provide opportunities for people to connect with professionals and enthusiasts passionate about creating inclusive environments for individuals living with dementia and their carers.
