Future OF Long Haul Flying | School Holiday Program 2026
Event description
What Does the Future of Long-Haul Flying Look Like?
Over two action-packed days, the Future of Long-Haul Flying school holiday program will see students exploring how airlines and airports are preparing for the next frontier in air travel, nonstop flights connecting Australia with destinations across the globe.
As one of the most geographically remote countries in the world, Australia has long faced challenges with direct international travel. But with the development of ultra-long-range aircraft, flights from the East Coast of Australia to Europe and North America are becoming a reality. This shift is sparking major innovations in aircraft design, passenger experience, and airport infrastructure.
In this hands-on program, students will reimagine a section of Brisbane Airport’s international terminal to cater for passengers preparing to board 20+ hour flights. They’ll dive into challenges around the in-flight experience, cabin design, passenger wellbeing, sustainability, and marketing, working in teams to develop creative solutions and present their concepts to a panel of aviation experts.
With behind-the-scenes tours of Aviation Australia’s hangar and flight training facilities, inspiring talks from industry professionals, and hands-on design challenges, this is the perfect opportunity for young people passionate about aviation to get a taste of the industry’s future.
Whether you're dreaming of a career in aerospace, airport operations, or design, this is your boarding call to explore what’s next in long-haul travel.
