Learn, connect and be inspired at our spring event in Hāwera,

Future-Proof Farming | Research, Resilience & Wellbeing

Join Taranaki ReGen, and our collaborative network, for a special spring event. We're bringing together farmers, researchers, rural professionals, community leaders and our wider community, to explore the latest agricultural research in regenerative farming, share local farming experiences, inspiring projects and discover fresh ideas for the future.

From emerging scientific findings and practical on-farm insights, to helpful projects and more, this event is an opportunity to learn, connect and be inspired by the people and ideas helping shape healthier, more resilient and productive farming systems.

What to expect:

  • Latest research: Dr Samuel Wilson, Massey University lecturer and Pastoral Lead for Whenua Haumanu, will present early (and very interesting & impactful) findings, from Aotearoa New Zealand’s largest pastoral farming research - a 7-year study comparing conventional and regenerative dairy, sheep and beef systems, now in year 4. Come join the conversation and hear what this can mean for the future of pastoral farming.

  • Farmer experiences: Explore the connections between regenerative farming and farmer wellbeing through a PhD research project featuring local farmers and their stories.

  • Practical farming insights: Discover fresh perspectives on soil health, pasture diversity, grazing management and farm resilience.

  • Seven years of Taranaki ReGen: Celebrate the learning, achievements and collaborations that have helped grow our regenerative farming community.

  • Interactive and inspiring: Opportunities to engage, ask questions and share.

  • Connection and conversation: Meet farmers, researchers, rural professionals, and a wider network who are interested and curious. Exchange ideas and explore opportunities for the future.

  • Enjoy a fresh and delicious catered lunch, and refreshments - featuring ingredients from local growers and producers.

Who should come along?

Farmers, growers, rural professionals, mana whenua, researchers, educators, students, community leaders and anyone who cares about the future of farming, healthy catchments, and practical solutions for nature, people and a regenerative economy, to thrive.

Whether you're well along your regenerative farming journey, exploring new approaches or simply curious about the latest research and interested to learn more, you're warmly welcome and invited!
