Future proofing HTA
Event description
Australia’s health technology assessment (HTA) process is showing signs of strain. Complexity is rising and evaluator supply and retention are under pressure. Incremental changes to HTA processes and guidelines have increased resource demands for all stakeholders, with arguably little difference in outcomes.
Despite a recent HTA Review, many practical issues — from quality assurance to workforce capacity — remain unresolved.
This ISPOR Australia Chapter workshop brings together evaluators, industry, patients, and policymakers to move beyond surface-level fixes and consider what it will take to future-proof HTA. Through a mix of provocations, interactive workshops, and open debate, we will challenge assumptions and seek actionable ideas to modernise and sustain the Australian HTA system.
The workshop will also include a presentation by former ISPOR-AC President, Paul Scuffam (Griffith University) for the inaugural Bill Montgomery Lecture.
Register today to hear from leading health economists and evaluators, plus gain access to real-time insights on the future of HTA.
