Future Ready Economy Workshop for Mount Isa Workers

Do you want to be a part of shaping the future for workers in Mount Isa?   

Are you curious about the changes, opportunities and challenges the region may face in years to come? 

Would you like to connect with people who are interested in building an even better region for future generations?   

Mount Isa workers are invited to join this Future Ready Economy Workshop to help set the agenda for positive change and development in the region over the next 10 years. 

This workshop will directly inform Mount Isa Council's Future Ready Economy Roadmap – a 10-year plan to maximise immediate and long-term opportunities to create jobs, attract investment and sustain a thriving community. 

Join us at this workshop on 16 July at the Irish Club, where together we will:  

• Share opportunities identified through Mount Isa City Council’s initiative Transitioning the Mount Isa Economy in the first half of 2024.  
• Identify a set of directions for a future ready economy and thriving Mount Isa community. 
• Explore strategies to strengthen and diversify the region’s industries and workforce, connect with emerging global opportunities, and build wellbeing.  
• Identify actions that Council, government, businesses, industries and communities can take over the next decade to build future readiness.  

It’s free to participate and refreshments will be provided – all you need to do is register.  

This workshop is a great opportunity to connect and network with others, learn about future readiness in Mount Isa, and actively participate in facilitated discussions.  

The Roadmap is for the future of the Mount Isa region - so we need YOU to get involved and share your thoughts, ideas and knowledge! Please, share this invitation with others who might be interested in participating.

The Mount Isa Future Ready Economy Roadmap is being developed by a collaboration between Mount Isa City Council and The Next Economy with support from Climate-KIC. It will be developed in 2024 in collaboration with community, industry and government. It was commissioned and is funded by Mount Isa City Council.
