Future Students Focus Groups: International Student Late Arrival Process

Are you an international student who went through the Late Arrival process in 2026? If so, we would like your help to improve that experience.
We’re inviting students who were new to the University of Canterbury in either Semester 1 or Semester 2 2026, and who arrived after the start of semester, to share their experiences as part of a focus group.
Through a relaxed group discussion with other Late Arrival international students, we want to learn more about what it was like for you to arrive late, including your experiences with getting started in your study while off-shore, accessing UC systems, connecting with other students and staff, and finding support.
There are three options to attend a focus group: you only need to come to one. You have a choice between:
Monday 28th September 2pm to 3:30 pm, or
Thursday 1st October 2pm – 3:30 pm or
Friday 2nd October 10:00am – 11:30 am.

Your feedback will help us understand what worked well and what needs to improve so that we can better support future international students.
