Event description

The Sydney Basin Tent Embassy & The People Alliance have come together to facilitate a Gadigal contingent to Ngunnawal in support of Senator Lidia Thorpe's Genocide Bill & Rally On Thursday, November 28th.

We’re standing in solidarity to demand justice for all victims and survivors of genocide. The fight for accountability cannot be delayed any longer.

At 5:30 AM, we’ll be departing Gadigal (Sydney) on a bus bound for Colonial Headquarters (Parliament House) in Ngunnawal (Canberra), where we’ll protest as Senator Lidia Thorpe’s crucial Genocide Bill on prosecuting genocide and war crimes will be debated.

There should be no debate. This is a no-brainer.

Right now, the Attorney-General holds unchecked power to block prosecutions for genocide, war crimes, & other serious offences. This is a blatant denial of justice for those who have suffered & still suffer unimaginable atrocities.

Politicians should not have the power to decide who is and isn’t accountable in our legal system.

We must raise our voices and demand that all perpetrators of genocide, whether here in so-called Australia or abroad, face the full weight of justice.

By joining this rally, we are not only advocating for the truth to be told but also standing firm for a future where no one is above the law.

This is a call for real change, for real accountability.

We invite you to be part of this historic moment. Together, we can make a difference.

Let’s show up for justice.
