Garden Insights: Clint White's Garden

Sunday 3 November 2024

2.00 pm - 4.30 pm

39 Rebwonga Street, Kingsthorpe Q 4400

This event is organised by Permaculture Toowoomba Inc.

Bookings are Essential

Bookings are essential so that we have contact details and know how many will be attending.

What We'll Do

We’ll start at 2.00 pm with a welcome and introduction. We like to visit a range of different gardens, each as unique as the gardeners who live there. It’s wonderful to see the diverse garden styles, approaches, and plants that can be grown in our bioregion.

This month we'll visit Clint White's evolving garden at Kingsthorpe where his children delight in watching the chickens and growing and harvesting edible plants.

What We'll See

  • Starting slow and not being afraid to adapt and change
  • Making Biochar at home

The Story Behind the Garden (a few words from Clint)

After moving to the property in January 2022, we are slowly starting to see progress from a weedy grass yard. The driver behind the garden is the joy my kids get from watching the chickens and plants grow and harvesting the bounties. As with all gardens, it is a work in progress.

About Clint

I'm a fitter and turner currently working for a company designing and manufacturing control traffic farming products. With my father's dislike for mowing I was lucky to grow up owning and showing Alpacas. Followed by my high school I operated a working dairy. These experiences sparked my desire to farm and produce my own food. Seeing Joel Salatin speak in 2014 pushed me to pursue regenerative practices and permaculture.
