What We'll Do
We’ll start at 2.00 pm with a welcome and introduction. We like to visit a range of different gardens, each as unique as the gardeners who live there. It’s wonderful to see the diverse garden styles, approaches, and plants that can be grown in our bioregion.
This month we'll visit Yvonne's nature-inspired urban garden.
What We'll See
- A north facing triangular block with lawn on the verge only.
- The main focus is the environment with Australian Native plants for the wildlife.
- Edibles fill in spaces and edges.
- Composting eliminates a green bin and green clippings go on the gardens to minimise impact of drought and rain events.
The Story Behind the Garden
- Yvonne has been a resident for 24 years with 3 garden transformations during that time.
- The latter leads to a wild bushy treed plot suitable for a free range wild woman.
- Currently the garden has a Bower with an active flirt.
Other important things to know.
- Please carpool as there is limited street parking.
- For safety it's important to park away from the corner.
- This is a small garden with narrow paths, so there will be a limit of 40 attendees.
Afternoon Tea (provided)
A light afternoon tea will be provided (including Gluten Free and Vegan options).
What to Bring
- KeepCup or similar for your drink at afternoon tea (we're trying to minimise waste)
- Chair
- Water bottle
- Sun protection
- Clothes and footwear suitable for outdoor weather conditions
- Donations of surplus produce for the Share Table
