THIS IS A WEBINAR EVENT

Rob Small is Curator at Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei's gardens on Kepa Road. This is a Māori Ethnobotanic garden in development. He is the designer and works with the Iwi to represent gardens such as food, wellness and weaving that reflect Ōrākei's tikanga and their Mātauranga.

Rob will talk about gardening according to Māori values and tikanga and the more than 700 years of Māori science that followed an astute observation and understanding of the world. He will discuss the modern concept of food sovereignty and why this is so important given the widening gap between the rich and poor in Aotearoa.
