ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS
SHARDHA RAJAM
Shardha Rajam is a lawyer working on multispecies justice in India. After years of working in feminist initiatives, she founded Courts of the Living, an organisation dedicated to making more-than-human lives juridically legible. She is a fellow with Emergence Magazine, and teaches at different Indian law schools. She is currently building the Living Judgements Project, the first of its kind to shadow landmark Indian judgements to bring in more-than-human- perspectives into law. She also hosts the Courts of the Living podcast.
ATREYO BANERJEE
Atreyo Banerjee is a lawyer, curator, educator, and field-builder working to expand the imagination of justice in an ecologically strained world. He leads Praani at Agami, building justice pathways that help institutions respond more seriously to the living world. As co-founder of Courts of the Living, he develops legal mechanisms for representing animals and ecosystems within India’s judicial system. He also teaches courses on climate law, political economy, and multispecies justice at leading Indian law schools and mentors clinical pedagogy.

SHRISHTEE BAJPAI
Shrishtee Bajpai is a writer, researcher, working at the intersections of environmental justice, earthy governance, and systemic transformations. She is part of environment action group-Kalpavriksh (India), Vikalp Sangam (Alternatives Confluence), Global Tapestry of Alternatives and serves on the executive committee of Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature.
DR MICHELLE MALONEY
Ms Michelle Maloney (PhD) is an Australian-based Earth lawyer and advocate for ecocentric and bioregional governance. She is recognised internationally and in Australia for her work advocating for Earth centred law and governance, including First Laws and the Rights of Nature. Michelle is Co-Founder and Director of the Australian Earth Laws Alliance (AELA), an organisation created to increase the understanding and practical implementation of Earth centred law and governance (www.earthlaws.org.au) Michelle is part of the Coordinating Team for the GARN Asia Pacific Hub.
