After more than 165 years of proud tradition, this iconic event is being revived as a vibrant, family‑friendly celebration of Scottish and Celtic culture. Enjoy the excitement of Highland Games, the stirring sound of pipes and drums, colourful Celtic dancing, live folk music and plenty of activities for all ages.
Held at the Golden Plains Soccer Club in Bannockburn, the Geelong Highland Games & Celtic Festival is a welcoming day out for families, locals and visitors alike. Whether you have Celtic roots or are simply looking for a fun and unique experience, come along, get involved and be part of this much‑loved festival’s next chapter.

The 2026 event brings together the essential elements that define an authentic Highland Games experience: Cultural Competitions & Performances • IHGF Australian National Heavy Games Championships Caber toss, stone put, hammer throw and other iconic athletic feats • The "Rob the Butcher Victorian State Haggis Hurling Championships" – Open Men’s, Women’s and Children event • Pipe Bands from across Victoria Massed pipes and drums, piping demonstrations • Scottish & Celtic Dance Displays Showcasing local and Victorian dancers • Traditional Folk Music Stage High energy Celtic bands and acoustic performers Family & Community Experiences • Clan village & genealogy tents • Family fun activities • Food trucks, artisan market stalls
