Geelong Talent Meet Up turns TWO

Geelong Talent Meet Up is turning TWO. 🎂

What started as an idea to create the Talent and People community Geelong was missing has grown into 450+ members and counting.

Over two years we’ve had brilliant speakers, packed rooms, new jobs, generous introductions, new friendships, plenty of laughs and a community that genuinely shows up for each other. And none of that happens without the people who keep turning up.

So for our 2nd birthday, we thought the best way to celebrate was to give something back to the people who built this community: YOU.

Yes, there will be lunch and possibly cake. Yes, there will be plenty of time to catch up with brilliant people overlooking Eastern Beach.

But we also want you to leave with something that genuinely adds value to you and your career.

We’re teaming up with Robine Stephenson and Rebecca Nibaldi from Straforma for an interactive Arena-style session built around something most of us rarely get the chance to practise properly: making strategic decisions with confidence.

Because the next step in your career is rarely about being able to do more tasks.

It's about being able to step back, see the bigger picture, make good calls when the answer isn’t obvious, challenge thinking constructively and contribute confidently when you’re sitting in the room with senior leaders.

That capability matters whether you’re a recruiter, Talent leader, People & Culture professional, team of one or figuring out what comes next.

And this won’t be a session where somebody talks at you about strategy.

You'll actually practise it.

You'll make decisions, weigh up competing priorities, test your thinking and build confidence in how you respond when there isn’t one neat, obvious answer.

Then we celebrate.

Your $40 ticket includes:

• A social roaming lunch with waterfront views (dietaries will be catered for)
• The interactive Geelong Talent Meet Up x Straforma experience
• Plenty of time to catch up, meet new people and celebrate
• Birthday cake, because obviouslyDrinks will be available to purchase separately from the bar.

When: Thursday 22nd October 2026

Where: Caledonia Shores Upstairs, Pavilion Geelong, 95 Eastern Beach Road, Geelong

Time: 12:00pm kick off!!

Come for the birthday. Come for the people. And leave with something useful: more confidence in how you think, make decisions and contribute when the conversation gets bigger than the task in front of you.

Two years of Geelong Talent Meet Up. This one is for you.
