Gel Plate Monoprinting Workshop

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Monoprinting is a printing technique where you create a one-of-a kind piece. With gel printing you can make beautiful prints without a press. Monoprinting with a gel plate is a fun and easy process to create colorful textured prints that can be used as stand-alone art or as pages in a journal, collage or note cards. Mark making and texture is an integral element in gel printing, and you’ll learn how to incorporate some of the everyday objects you may have lying around the house into your art. You will learn to create layers of color and texture with each print and with this satisfying and creative process you will discover how each print becomes a one-of-a-kind piece of art. Various papers will be explored so students can see some of the possibilities for different projects.
Each student will need to purchase their own gel plate to use in this workshop, along with a brayer or roller, acrylic paints and some paper. The supplies can be purchased on your own or a kit containing everything you need is available from the instructor.
