Geli Plate and Lino Workshop with Val Cuthbert

Participants will learn geli plate printing with paint onto paper using found objects like leaves and flowers.  Then overprinting with a small piece of precut lino using ink and a small press.

In this workshop we will firstly make a small geli plate print using paint and various leaves, next print this onto paper. Then decide which small linos to over print, butterfly, gecko, weta, frog  etc. The lino image will be inked and printed over the geli image using a small Sizzix press

Artist Biography: Valerie Cuthbert

I am a dedicated printmaker who loves to share techniques and printmaking ideas with colleagues and students.  Since attending printmaking classes with well known printmaker Joan Taylor from 2004 - 2013 I have explored the medium further with  international and national tutors, keeping aware of the constantly changing contemporary printmaking scene.

I teach and exhibit regularly at both Estuary Arts Centre in Orewa, and at Lake House Arts Centre in Takapuna where I am a  member of resident group Rata printmakers. I am a life member of our national body the Print Council of Aotearoa New Zealand.
