Event description

Is circular fashion here to stay? As the stigma of second-hand begins to fade and technological innovation advances the fashion industry, will our youngest generations transform how we consume fashion to create a better future? And what’s the impact of digital fashion?

While ultra-fast fashion hauls dominate social media, and the global fashion industry generates textile waste and toxic chemicals at unfathomable levels, the circular fashion industry is growing at a faster rate than new retail. This emerging trend may be here to stay thanks to climate-aware younger generations and their more eco-conscious choices.

Join this discussion to hear from industry experts and leaders exploring the true environmental cost of fast fashion, and how younger generations will lead a sustainable fashion revolution.

Hosted by B Lab Australia & Aotearoa's Director of Certification and Programs, Mindy Leow, and celebrating B Corp Month and Climate Action Week.

Speakers include:

  • Sam Delgos is the Industry Relations Manager at the Australian Fashion Council (AFC), bringing over a decade of expertise in the Australian fashion and textile industry to the role. In her time at the AFC, Sam has led programs aimed at modernizing industry practices through the adoption of technology and innovation. Sam is an advocate for localised clothing supply chains to support a more responsible and sustainable fashion industry.
  • Samara Darling, Fashion Designer, is a recent graduate of Fashion Design from Fashion Design Studio at TAFE NSW and embeds sustainability and circularity in all aspects of her work.
  • Mindy Leow is the Director of Certification and Programs at B Lab AANZ. Following a decade in the media and advertising industry in the USA, Mindy moved to Australia to pursue a purpose-driven path. Mindy has been instrumental in growing the B Corp movement since 2016, working with hundreds of businesses to measure and improve their impact.
