Gender Equality is Everybody's Business

What do we mean by gender equality? How is Australia doing when it comes to gender equality, have we achieved it already? And how does this connect to violence against women and girls?

This workshop is an introductory 2-hour session in which we will discuss and answer those questions. You will have the opportunity, in a relaxed setting, to understand why gender equality is so important, how it connects to preventing violence against women and where we are at in achieving it.

You will be introduced to key gender equality terms and frameworks, provided with current statistics and important legislation, giving you a snapshot of gender equality in broader Australia, as well as what is happening in our home state, Victoria.

This is an opportunity to discover, discuss and ask questions. Learn where gender equality starts and challenge outdated gender stereotypes for everybody. Our facilitators will give you the chance to listen, discuss, ask questions and reflect on what gender equality means for you - and what we can do about it.
