Transgender Victoria presents the Gender Revel Gala: an extravagant and euphoric evening celebrating the start of Trans Month!
Dress to the nines and revel in everything that brings you gender euphoria, as we enjoy drinks and canapés, live performances, and the presentation of our inaugural Trans Visibility Awards. Don’t miss this celebration of trans, gender diverse and non-binary joy! 🥂
Note: This is a trans-centric experience open to all allies who want to support their loved ones and amplify the joy of gender euphoria.

Gala Lineup:
- Mama Alto (she/her): The incomparable gender transcendent diva, set to mesmerise with her powerful vocals.
- Maddy Weeks (they/them): Fresh from their nomination for Best Newcomer at the 2024 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Weeks brings their award-winning comedy to the stage.
- Robert Baxter (they/he/she): Pop sensation Baxter will perform tracks from their debut EP "You Wouldn't Expect Cupid To Cry," released earlier this year.
- Anna Piper Scott (she/her): After a sold-out Melbourne Fringe show "T4T" and appearances at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Scott will be MC for the evening.
- Rosie Rai (she/her): Singer-songwriter extraordinaire, Rai will be serenading us on the piano with some smooth tunes.
- DJ Gay Dad (they/them): The self-described “homosexual DJ with big wine mum energy" will keep the party going with their infectious beats.
- House of Furia: Oceania's newest kiki house, FURIA will be paying homage to the ballroom pioneers who have illuminated the path for marginalised Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous and People of Colour communities.
What to wear:
Anything that brings you gender euphoria! No outfit is too ostentatious or over-the-top, and we highly encourage creativity and colour! Keep an eye on TGV’s socials for outfit inspo in the lead up to the gala.

Sponsored tickets are available for trans, gender diverse and non-binary people - please reach out to events@tgv.org.au to arrange your ticket if the cost is prohibitive.
Schedule:
7:00 PM - Doors open, roaming canapés and drinks available
7:45 PM - Trans Visibility Awards Ceremony
8:30 PM - More food, drink and live performances
10:00 PM - Have your d-floor moment with our DJ
12:00 AM - Go home! Surely you're ready for a nap?
Get ready with us!
Want to meet some other folks before the event? Come get ready at the mobile Affirmation Station anytime from 5PM - 7PM, out the back of Collingwood Town Hall via the Eddy Court entrance. Look for the signs! We'll have a team of people to help you get dressed, glam up and compliment the sh*t out of you before the night kicks off.
Safety:
- We will have our mobile Affirmation Station onsite as a space to get changed into your outfit if you need. This will also be a place to greet friends, make new ones and feel affirmed and encouraged at the start of the night.
- There will also trans-friendly security present throughout the whole evening for your comfort.
Accessibility:
- All performances and speakers will have Auslan interpretations.
- Wheelchair accessible entrance
- We'll have a low-sensory chill out room available near the entrance all night
Covid safety:
We acknowledge that COVID-19 has an ongoing impact on all members of our communities, especially our immunocompromised and disabled communities.
Below are the strategies we are implementing at the Gender Revel Gala to increase our COVID-19 safety and build a culture of community care:
- Free N95 and K94 masks are available and wearing is encouraged - let’s keep each other safe!
- Air purifiers will be on in all spaces
- Doors will remain open to all our event spaces on the night
- Hand sanitizer will be made available
TGV operates across lands belonging to the Wurundjeri, Boonwurrung, Taungurong, Dja Dja Wurrung, and Wathaurung peoples of the Kulin Nation. Transgender Victoria pays its respects to Elders past, present, and emerging, and acknowledges that sovereignty has never been ceded. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
