Event description

How do Generative AI tools like ChatGPT fit into New Zealand’s commitment to sustainability? Every time we prompt an AI chatbot it takes energy and water, but how is this different from other technologies we use every day? In this session, Dr Kara Kennedy (AI Literacy Institute) will review what we know about the emissions produced by AI systems and whether they deserve the label of environmental disaster that some critics have given to them.

Join in to learn more about how AI compares to other digital services you use and to gain new ways to think critically about your digital footprint.

Session will be hosted via Zoom. Please register to reserve a virtual spot and receive the link before the event.
