Generous Harvest: a Mini Retreat for Women in Wellness
Description
As your PNW Summer fills up, don't forget to add yourself to the guest list!
This is such a juicy time of year…
long light, warm air, being outside with the people we love.
And in the middle of soaking it all in, it can be too easy to forget to pause.
To take the time to give deep thanks for the bounty of our efforts, and to go within and tend to what we actually need.
That's why we're so excited to gather together with other women in wellness - those who share and give and plan and caretake - to take a breath, to play in the water, to sit in the sauna, to speak our truth to the fire, to sing and share with our sisters.
A few hours, one evening, just for you, to play in generosity and harvest, before the Summer’s beauty goes by.
Hosted by WReN (Wellness ReSource Network), an organization designed to support Wellness professionals as they connect with their people and share their gifts.
This gathering is timed around Lughnasadh (pronounced LOO-nuh-sah), an old Celtic festival marking the first harvest of the season, and the pause between Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox.
Here's how our founder Kriyanna describes it:
During the time of Lughnasadh, the fields of grain are cut.
This is the time to celebrate the harvest.
In the fields the corn has grown old, and now stands bent and crooked like an old man.
The Sun has changed the grain from green to gold, and we can all see that its time has come.
The life of the grain will feed the people, and it is this sacrifice that we honor at Lughnasadh.
The grain is taken, some to be ground into life giving food while other seeds are stored away for next Spring's planting, continuing the cycle of new life again and again.
If this resonates, we invite you to join us in celebration of a Generous Harvest on the Full Moon, July 29th, for a sacred evening together.
In preparation for this feast of mind, body, and spirit, we invite you to contemplate…
What fruits are you harvesting at this time?
What seeds will you store away to plant in Spring?
Who are your companion plants, helping one another to grow?
What competition do you welcome in order to encourage being your best?
What variety will you preserve so that you and your community may thrive year after year?
Whatever your answers may be, let us trust and be carried by the ever-flowing cycles of nature as we remember that we are one with the force of creation.
