Event description

Description: Join Allegory Editing for a discussion about genre conventions, why they matter, and specifics for a few popular genres.

This workshop will provide an overview of genre conventions that apply to all writers, along with in-depth information on crime fiction, speculative fiction, and historical fiction.

Are you wondering if this workshop applies even if you don't write in those specific genres? Some conventions are important for all genres, such as world building and creating tension.

And sometimes writers aren't writing in the genre they think they are. Discover where your current work in progress might cross genre lines or if you may be writing in a genre that you didn't expect.

Let us help you get your manuscript in tip-top shape to appeal to the right agent, editor, and readers.

Presenters: Andrea Karin Nelson, Christine Pinto, and Elena Hartwell Taylor
