Geography & Wine: Georgia with Good Stock Wine
Event description
Geography & Wine is back!
Join special guest Tim Stock, Sydney's Georgian wine guru, who's bringing his slew of iconic wines to Cardwell Cellars for a night celebrating the history, geography, and climate of Georgian wine.
Be guided through 6 wines, with accompanying maps and other material to shine a light on the world's oldest wine-producing country.
About Tim Stock:
“Tim Stock has been importing traditional natural Georgian wines for over 10 years. After a chance encounter with an air-freighted bottle of Pheasant’s Tears at Virginia Plain and the stories he discovered around that wine and Georgian’s ancient wine culture he was hooked. He set about compiling one of the world’s most comprehensive portfolios of Georgian natural wine producers with the help of John Wurdeman from Pheasant’s Tears.
His range of Georgian natural wines covers the breadth of this small but diverse country representing almost all traditional regions. Working closely with former colleague and now ex-pat in Georgia – Aidan Raftery – they have one of finest portfolios of Georgian natural wines anywhere in the world”
