Parks Victoria Ineke & Earth Sciences, Geology and Palaeontology expert Mike share Geology knowledge in this engaging professional learning experience focused on Wilsons Promontory National Park and its unique geological story.

Wilsons Prom is at the southernmost tip of mainland Australia. With coastal bushland trails and pristine beaches dominated by granite tors, this iconic park is a biodiversity haven. This session equips teachers with practical, curriculum-aligned strategies to explore key concepts such as plate tectonics, coastal processes, rock formation, and environmental change through a real-world Victorian case study.

Meet the presenters:

Ineke Van Vliet: Ineke has spent the past eight years with Parks Victoria creating meaningful, nature-based learning experiences for visitors and school groups at Wilsons Promontory. She now leads Parks Victoria’s educational programs across Gippsland, inspiring communities to connect with and care for the natural environment. 

Mike Cleeland: Mike is a retired Science teacher, specialising in Earth Sciences including Geology and Palaeontology. He has led numerous field trips on Wilson's Promontory, and recently assisted with editing the Wilson's Promontory Geological Guide.
