Geothermal Heat for Residential, Commercial & Industrial Use
Event description
The Tauranga geothermal system offers exciting potential for both developers and businesses within the Western Bay region.
Recent works commissioned by Bay of Plenty Regional Council and EECA have highlighted the geothermal heat potential of the low temperature Tauranga Geothermal System.
This is a technology-focused session that will address how geothermal heating and cooling systems work. We will cover direct use and indirect use or ground-source heat pump technologies, both open and closed loop systems, and share a range of compelling international and local case studies showcasing what's possible in Tauranga City and the Western Bay of Plenty. We will also provide a brief outline of the regional geothermal context for this work.
Come with questions! We hope an open discussion will address any uncertainties and provide clarity on the potential of geothermal heating technologies.
Speakers:
Dean Howie, Bay of Plenty Regional Council
