German Student Theatre Performance 2026

The German Student Theatre Group presents Friedrich Dürrenmatt's comedy “Der Meteor” (1966). The play traces the last, obstacle-strewn journey of Nobel laureate Wolfgang Schwitter. Although he is ready to say farewell and many of his acquaintances seem to concur, Death itself is oddly reluctant to accept him. Dürrenmatt outfits this final voyage with sharp, witty dialogue, peculiar encounters and a chorus of impatient characters, demonstrating his mastery of dark humour and confirming his place among the finest comic playwrights of the 20th century — a writer who can make even dying both entertaining and unexpectedly funny.

The play will be performed in German with English Surtitles.
