Description

Class Description: Art+Design Labs is excited to offer these special new Pre-College ArtLab (PCAL) workshops designed for high school students. This is an introductory figure drawing class that focuses on portraiture, community, and motion. Participants in this three hour workshop will have the opportunity to create six different portraits of other individuals in their cohort using charcoal and oil pastels. Each participant will be drawing simultaneously. This cohesive working environment will create an “in motion” space that will be important to the development of gesture and looseness. Each participant will have the opportunity to focus on proportion, color, and shape language during the workshop while learning how to visually communicate in different lengths of time over the course of the three hours.
