Get Locked Up in Newcastle Paranormal Experience - November 2026

Thousands of people have walked along Hunter Street without knowing what remains behind the doors of Newcastle’s Old Police Lock Up.

This November, you’re invited inside for a two-hour paranormal investigation in the spaces where prisoners were held between 1861 and 1982.

Inside the original cells, low ceilings, narrow ventilation openings and graffiti etched into the walls offer a glimpse of what confinement meant here.

As we explore these spaces together, we’ll share the building’s history and give you time to sit quietly, listen and investigate. What will you notice when the bustle of Hunter Street gives way to the stillness of a holding cell?
