Sat, 10 May, 8:45am - 3pm AEST

Event description

Come and learn the latest, best practice methods for weed control and removal with Paul Melehan, Upper Hunter Local Landcare Coordinator.  We will be providing the tools, demonstrations and you will get the chance to practice yourself.  We are focusing on weeds of riparian areas which can be extra challenging to manage. Also learn some key weed hygiene techniques to minimise weeds getting to and spreading across your site. Brush up on some weed ID and your knowledge of the priority weeds for the Hunter region during the day.

Please wear the following PPE: Long-sleeved shirt, long pants, sunhat, sunscreen, gloves (optional, we have some you can borrow), eye protection (if you have it), boots/enclosed shoes suitable for uneven ground. Please bring a camping chair if you have one.

Please arrive by 8.45am for a 9am start.  The event runs until 3pm.

Lunch and Morning Tea are provided.  Please supply any special dietary needs in the booking form.

The location will either be at Col Fisher Park or Hunter River behind the dog park off Darlington Road.  Both locations are within a ten-minute drive from Singleton town centre.  The location choice will be confirmed by e-mail to those booked in, prior to the day. Please be advised the nearest toilets would be at Allan Bull Reserve for Col Fisher Park or Singleton Public Library for the Darlington Road site.

Please register by 4pm, Friday 2nd May for catering purposes.

This event is free thanks to funding from Local Land Services Hunter Catchment Contributions.
