Description

Streaming Decoded: Getting Your Music Heard on Spotify, Apple Music & Beyond
An online masterclass with Jaqueline Quintanilla, presented by Brella Latin Women in Music

We're thrilled to welcome Jaqueline Quintanilla, Digital Account Executive at Sony Music Australia. She's also a guitarist, musician and DJ, so she knows the industry from both sides: the label office and the stage. In this live online session, she'll share the practical knowledge independent artists rarely get access to.

You've made the music. Now what? This masterclass explains how streaming actually works, so you can release with strategy instead of hoping for the best.

What you'll learn

  • How DSPs work: the differences between Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon and SoundCloud, and how to find where your audience actually listens.

  • Where your money comes from: master vs publishing royalties, the pro-rata payout model, and why "$0.003 per stream" is a myth.

  • Distribution done right: how distributors work, ISRC and UPC codes, and how to get through quality control without delays.

  • Pitching to editorial playlists: how to claim your artist profiles, what to include in your pitch, and when to send it.

  • Release strategy: the waterfall method, the golden window before release day, and why Friday matters.

  • Keeping fans engaged: pre-saves, Spotify Canvas, and turning listeners into a community you own.

The session ends with a live Q&A, so bring your questions.

Who it's for: everyone is welcome, with a special focus on women in the music industry. Ideal if you're an independent or emerging artist preparing a release. No prior industry knowledge needed.
