Getting Off Gas: Rentals and apartments
Event description
As residents and government slowly come on board the electrification train, there are more and more Australians who don’t live in stand-alone owner-occupier housing that are interested in finding out how they too can make the switch to all-electric living. The 30% of Australian households that rent their home face higher barriers to electrification than owner-occupiers. Likewise, those living in strata and apartments face unique hurdles when it comes to navigating the transition to all-electric appliances and power.
Since there is a growing number of Australians continuing to rent for the long term, alongside a rise in apartment dwellers, there is a need to identify the unique conditions, barriers and opportunities for these two sectors, and help guide those interested in getting off gas towards workable solutions.
Join Renew and our expert panel as we discuss the ins and outs of renting and living in apartments when it comes to increasing energy efficiency. We will be looking at the particular situations facing renters and those in social housing and how they can think about making changes to reduce their energy bills, and the situation for renters and home-owners living in apartments or higher-density living who are keep to explore solar and all-electric appliances.
