Getting Started with SketchUp Pro for landscape design

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

For some of us, design projects can be a challenge. Whether for the backyard or a full permaculture design, mapping the area, assessing the sectors of sun, wind, shadow, etc. can be tricky and extending our artistic ability to represent these plans visually can be downright daunting. Which is why programs like SketchUp Pro can be a lifesaver for amateur and experienced designers alike.

Join Guenther Andraschko for a 1.5-hour introductory training webinar that will set you up with a range of Sketch Up skills particularly tailored for landscape design. The session will cover the following topics:
- Sketch-Up Page set-up
- Workflow when designing
- Geo-locate your design
- Components of the design
It will also cover functionality of the program such as:
- Tags (Layers)
- Life shadow settings
- Creating 2D designs
- Creating 3D designs
- Tips and tricks to get you over some Sketchup hurdles

There will be a chance for questions at the end of the webinar.

Please download SketchUp Pro 2020.2 before the webinar. You'll still have the use of the drawing functions, geo-location and shadows after expiry of the free trial period if you're not ready to pay for a subscription. Please also ensure you have a 3-point mouse.
