Event description
The program is funded by CALHN as part of the ACEM EMET Program. This event is free to attend. Catering is provided.
Medical Officers, General Practitioners, Nurses and Paramedics working in Emergency Care or Pre-Hospital environments are welcome to attend this workshop. Numbers are limited, book early to avoid disappointment.
Participants receive an attendance certificate for 7.5 hours of CPD.
Learning Outcomes:
This full day workshop includes interactive lectures and skill stations in a comprehensive fashion. Each component will be broken down to discuss how to both assess and provide “immediate needs” treatment.
The format will consist of 4 components:
- Types of agitation – organic vs mental health
- Medico-legal implications and instruments
- De-escalation
- Restraints – physical and chemical
