Description

This practical one-hour workshop helps business owners and not-for-profit teams understand what journalists are looking for, identify genuine story opportunities within their business, and pitch those stories clearly.

Participants will leave with a stronger understanding of how media works, how to spot angles that matter, what can make a good story in their business and how to draft pitches that will interest media outlets.

Hosted by Chris McLoughlin who has worked as both a journalist and in media relations for the past two decades. This workshop is also suitable for community groups and not-for-profit organisations.

Gain knowledge, resources and practical advice in only one hour before heading off for your day of work. Tea, coffee and refreshments included.

Outcomes:

• Understand why media still matters in a crowded digital environment

• Learn what journalists consider newsworthy

• Identify potential stories and angles within your own business

• Learn a simple media pitch structure

• Begin drafting a pitch you can refine and use
