Voices for Moreton Bay: Climate Fresk & Community Futures Conversation
Description
🌿 Our democracy is strongest when communities have a genuine voice.
Join Northside Community Voices (NCV) for a special Citizen COP event combining community dialogue and a Climate Fresk workshop.
NCV is a grassroots, non-partisan initiative working to ensure the people of Moreton Bay have a stronger voice in shaping the decisions that affect their future—not just during election cycles, but every day in between.
As our region grows, so do the challenges we face. This event creates space for residents to come together, share perspectives, and explore shared priorities for a more resilient and connected Moreton Bay.
🌿 As part of Citizen COP Australia, this local session connects our community to a national movement of citizen-led climate and nature action happening across Australia during the COP period.
What to expect on the day
A Welcome to Country, grounding the event in respect for place and Country
A Climate Fresk workshop — an interactive, science-based card game using IPCC data to explore climate causes and impacts
A community conversation on local resilience, adaptation, and collective action in Moreton Bay
What is Climate Fresk?
Climate Fresk is an internationally acclaimed, science-based workshop that turns complex climate science into a fun, interactive game. Using 42 cards based on the latest IPCC reports, participants work in teams to map out the causes and consequences of climate change.
No lectures.
No jargon.
Just collaborative learning, rich conversations, and a boost of collective energy to act.
Over 2.6 million people around the world have taken part — from students and citizens to business leaders and policymakers. Now, it’s Australia’s turn. Find out more about Climate Fresk: https://climatefresk.org/world/
Why this matters
Real climate literacy is the foundation of meaningful action.
By learning together locally, we build the confidence and shared understanding needed to shape better decisions for our communities and future generations.
🤝 Let’s learn together. Let’s act locally. Let’s strengthen community voice.
About Citizen COP Australia
Citizen COP Australia is a decentralised, people-powered movement running alongside the global COPs in 2026. Enabled by People For Nature, but intentionally independent and distributed, Citizen COP invites communities, organisations, schools, businesses, artists, and local groups across Australia to host their own events during the COP period. Rather than a single central event, Citizen COP is a nationwide network of conversations, workshops, and actions that bring global climate and nature discussions into local communities. It connects people to science, solutions, and each other, strengthening civic engagement and ensuring citizen voices contribute to Australia’s climate and nature conversations.

About Northside Community Voices (NCV)
Northside Community Voices (NCV) exists to help ensure the people who live, work and raise families in Moreton Bay have a stronger voice in the decisions that shape our future—not just during election campaigns, but every day between them.
We are a grassroots, non-partisan organisation committed to listening, connecting people, encouraging informed discussion and helping decision-makers understand community priorities at the local, state and federal levels of government. As our population grows, so do the challenges we face. We believe local people understand their communities best. We aim to help residents identify shared priorities and constructive solutions, and to ensure these are heard by the decision-makers who shape our future.
We welcome everyone who wants to contribute to a stronger, more connected Moreton Bay.
