Step onto the field and learn the game from the pros! Come and try AFL with Sydney’s No. 1 AFL Club in a fun, supportive, and completely free 4-week clinic led by GWS GIANTS AFLW players Sophia and Yasmeen.

Whether you’re kicking a footy for the very first time or sharpening your skills for next season, this clinic is designed for all skill levels.

Dates: Tuesdays, Nov 10 – Dec 1 (4-Week Program)

Location: Wagener Oval, Ashbury

Sessions & Age Groups:

• Ages 9–14 Years - 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM

• U20 Girls Clinic (Ages 17–20 Years) - 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

• Cost: 100% FREE (Registration required)

Develop Your Game with the GIANTS

Run over 4 consecutive Tuesday evenings, each session focuses on skill development, confidence, and teamwork in an energetic environment:

Skill Fundamentals: Hands-on drills covering kicking, handballing, marking, decision-making, and game awareness.

Pro Coaching: Direct mentorship, tips, and encouragement from AFLW stars Sophia & Yasmeen.

Tailored Age Streams: Dedicated sessions for junior development (9–14 yrs) and advanced youth/senior pathways (17–20 yrs).

Fun & Inclusive: Non-contact drills and challenges suitable for absolute beginners through to experienced players.

Q&A and Photos: Opportunities to chat with Sophia and Yasmeen about elite athlete life, take photos, and get signatures.

WHAT TO BRING

Footwear: Football boots or runners/sneakers (both welcome).

Gear: Comfortable activewear/sports clothing and a clearly labelled water bottle.

Sun Protection: Hat and sunscreen for the earlier session.

Is the clinic completely free?

Yes! The entire 4-week clinic is free to attend, but players must register online beforehand to ensure proper coach-to-player ratios.

What if I’ve never played AFL before?

This is a "Come & Try" program—no experience is necessary. The drills are structured so first-timers can learn the fundamentals while having fun.

Do I have to attend all 4 weeks?

While attending all 4 weeks provides the best experience and full skill progression, you are still welcome to join if you have to miss a session.

Wagener Oval is located in Ashbury. Parking is available around the perimeter of the ground.
