Gina Yates Cutting - Townsville (QLD)
Description
Gina Yates Cutting
Gina Yates is a multidisciplinary artist best known for her unwavering dedication to precision hairdressing, session styling, and grooming expertise. With over half her life spent behind the chair, Yates’ craft is a testament to years of dedication, technical refinement, and creative exploration. While her passion began with precision cutting, Gina’s career has evolved through years in the fashion industry—honing advanced styling techniques across runway, editorial, and commercial campaigns, and bringing those insights back into her salon work. In 2025, Gina was crowned Men’s Hairdresser of the Year at the Australian Hair Fashion Awards (AHFA), only weeks after returning from Paris Fashion Week, where she collaborated with some of the most recognisable names in session hairdressing. Trained at Mahogany, and shaped by influences from Sassoon and Sorbie, Gina’s approach now centres on effortless, wearable styles—cuts that are technically refined yet easy for clients to maintain. As an educator, Gina is passionate about strong foundational techniques and believes that great hair begins with precision. Her calm collected teaching style makes complex concepts clear and accessible, empowering students to deliver confident, consistent results with ease.
