Ginger's Bush Camp - South Island
Description
Ginger's national award-winning Bush Camps sell out every time. This November, we're bringing it to the South Island for the very first time!
We're heading to one of the most beautiful parts of the South Island to ring in summer together. Two nights of good people, good food, questionable dance moves, and a whole lot of connection. This camp will be fun, funny, not precious, not serious. We have so many solos that come to this camp and we will connect you all beforehand to get to know each other. Take the leap, you won't regret it.
6-8 November 2026 Location is secret, for the safety and security of everyone attending. About 2 hours 20 minutes from Dunedin Airport, 3 hours 30 from Christchurch Airport, and 3 hours 15 from Queenstown Airport, all driving. Exact directions go out to full ticket holders. We'll help put solo travellers in touch with each other beforehand for carpooling. Strictly 18+, ages typically mid 20s to 70s and healthily spread out.
What's included
Two breakfasts, one lunch, two dinners, all cooked by incredible award-winning chefs, every dietary requirement covered.
Days packed with a fly fishing workshop, plus the river right on site: swim in our own private river pools, tube down the river, jump off the cliff, or take a swing off the rope into the water. You choose what you want to do, and how much or how little you want to do.
The Lesbian Olympics is happening all weekend - and it's not all sports because some skills require more detail... think Finger wrestling, arm wrestling, u-haul challenge, fruit roll up comps, masc comps and of course some actual sports.
Bushies Got Talent, Vibrator Race, and the famous Ginger's Party on the Saturday night with a DJ keeping the dancefloor going. Wind down by the campfire on Friday under the south island sky full of stars.
Barista coffee available to purchase each morning and a bar on site open for purchase in the evenings. Camp Rangers (aged 30-75) on hand the whole weekend, running the schedule, sorting problems, scolding you when you're naughty, and making sure everyone's looked after.
Our kaupapa
Lesbian-led, and fully inclusive of the whole FLINTA* community. Trans, takatāpui, intersex, non-binary, and gender diverse whānau belong here exactly as much as anyone else. If that's a problem for you, this isn't your camp.
FLINTA*: Women, Lesbians, Intersex, Non-binary, Trans, and Agender people, with the asterisk holding space for anyone else who belongs. That includes Bisexual, Pansexual, Ethical Non Monogamous.

Accessibility
There's wheelchair-accessible parking, and step-free or ramped access into reception and the main grounds. On-site bathrooms include an accessible option with grab bars.
Keep in mind this is a rustic, rural, riverside camp, some of the paths down to the riverside sites are unpaved, gravel or grassy, and can be uneven underfoot, so they may be tricky for mobility devices. If accessibility is something you need us to plan around, let us know when you register and we'll help sort the best spot for you.
