ginhawa / breathe: June Somatic Circles with Nawa [Single Session]
Event description
ginhawa somatic circles is an emergent process of inquiry on our personal and collective ways of being in the world. These weekly circles look at rewiring our brain through the practice of somatics, plant wisdom, and animist leanings in an effort to decolonise our pan-activist culture-building praxis. This series is open to the general public.
Every Tuesday in June at 11 AM AEST - BOOK A SINGLE SESSION
(These 1hr 15 min sessions will be recorded and available for one month)
Our practice circles seek to uncover ancestral knowledge systems of resourcing energies that are always present within our individual, collective, and historical bodies. ginhawa is a Bisaya word that points us to the breath of life and reminds us of our aliveness, even in the worst of times. How we ginhawa/breathe is an indication of our physical, emotional, cognitive, social, spiritual, and collective integration. By engaging with an integrated self, we are building up and enlivening our embodied knowledge systems for identifying creative solutions to our problems, seeing the world differently, and meeting our decolonised selves.
This month, we will be learning to:
- dwell in place
- integrate the natural cycles of the season
- regulate our nervous system
- embody ecosystemic perspectives
- utilise ancestral medicine
- practice kapwa kinship with human n non-human beings
