Event description

Join the Quoll Society team for an expedition to collect cameras set in Girraween National Park for the spotted-tailed quoll! Girraween National Park is a stunning national park famous for granite boulders and wildflowers. It is also teaming with rare and threatened wildlife, including the bare-nosed wombat and the spotted-tailed quoll.

What to expect:
The event will kick-off with a talk from quoll expert, Paul Revie, on the spotted-tailed quoll and why Girraween National Park is so important for the local population. Then, we'll head off for a considerable walk through the gorgeous Girraween National Park to collect cameras that have been deployed to detect the spotted-tailed quoll. A moderate level of physical fitness is required.

Time: 8:30am - approx 1:30pm
Location: Girraween National Park, Day Use Area on Pyramids Road

What to bring:

  • Enclosed, sturdy shoes
  • Long pants and long-sleeved shirt
  • Hat and sunscreen
  • Plenty of water
  • Lunch and snacks
  • Backpack with space to cary cameras and other equipment


Spaces at this event are limited, so registration is ESSENTIAL. This event is free but donations are welcome.
