Give Me a Mic 2026

Give Me a Microphone and Some Warm Bodies is a reimagined program designed to nurture and support recently graduated artists. This initiative provides a structured mentorship within the CoExist community, guiding participants through the full process of creating a choreographic work - from initial concept to final performance.

Over 25 weeks, three choreographers worked closely with the CoExist team in a supported, hands-on program focused on developing choreographic practice and self-producing skills.

We are so grateful for the support of all the incredible mentors & facilitators who have contributed to Give Me A Mic this year. A massive, huge thank you to Aimee Raitman, Byron Lewis, Damian Meredith, Alec Katsourakis & Lana Rosalea.

Lotus flowers cannot emerge above the surface without being rooted in muddy water first.

The path is dynamic, not flawless, a move from red to green.

I think if they could grow here, they would.

A language of rage and precision, of release and refusal. It moves through the body like pressure finding form, emotion refusing containment. Power Lines brings Krump and Contemporary dance into a shared performance space, where taking up space becomes an act of refusal, resilience, and power.

My body falls into a rhythmic cycle between work and rest. When work asks for efficiency and production, rest responds with breath and warmth. Unfolding- a quiet but continuous conversation about my body, rigor and care. A constant act of learning and unlearning.
