Event description

Negative experiences with feedback can lead us to avoid it. Without it, we risk of losing good people (employees and volunteers alike). Doing it well and generating an environment that welcomes feedback in a range of forms is essential for healthy workplace cultures and communities that support people to grow and develop confidence and competence. Integrating regular feedback that is practical, meaningful and inspires achievement is vital and benefits everyone, not just managers.

Becoming skilled at giving and receiving feedback can help us work smarter, not harder. This work is based on a relational approach to leadership at every level. Giving and receiving feedback is a meta-skill that fosters inclusive leadership. Some of the key areas this workshop explores include:

• Knowing when to give feedback.

• What is important for receiving and interpreting feedback.

• Giving feedback skilfully with clarity and intention.

• Creating optimal conditions for effective feedback.

This workshop focuses on environments where feedback is recognised as valuable and may not be practised effectively or be part of the workplace culture. It supports people in professional environments to gain confidence and skill in feedback, both giving and receiving.

Who should attend:

For anyone leading or working with others, whether in organisations or independently. These workshops are for people in environments where these skills are valued and who want the chance to develop them. They offer support to build confidence and capability in meta-skills that reinforce and build on one another.

What to expect:

  • This session is a two-hour interactive online workshop.

  • Slides are used to share content visually.

  • Slides will be shared in PDF form after each session.

  • Breakout rooms are used to encourage light-hearted practice of the skills

  • There will be a break in the middle.

  • Certificates of participation are available upon request.

  • Although aimed at developing workplace skills, the benefits are transferable to other areas of life.

  • The session is not recorded to provide a learning environment where participants are free to ask questions.

This session is part of a series and can be taken individually. See Host Page or below for other workshops and Packages.
