Event description

CQU and the Philip Street Communities and Families Precinct have been running a project to tackle social isolation and loneliness in Gladstone. In June we hosted a workshop at Gladstone Library to unpack some themes that we've heard from speaking with Gladstone locals, and doing lots of research into social isolation and loneliness.

A wonderful group of people chose to take forward some innovative initiatives to the next stage, including:

- A social enterprise bus service

- Looking at the Gladstone Interagency meeting

- Creating online access in public spaces to an activity directory

- A services liaison officer

- Creating journey maps

We need you to help take these ideas to the next level in a fun and interactive co-design workshop.

So, what does this mean? Steve and Sara from the Office of Social Innovation at CQU will guide a small group of people from Gladstone through activities to design some solutions to social isolation and loneliness.

Sounds like a big problem to solve, right?

We know communities often have the answers to their own issues, this workshop is about sharing ideas and experiences, and getting creative. This co-design process doesn’t have to end with a perfect, polished new service, it could be a tweak to an existing service, it could be a duplication of something already happening, it could even be something so far out of the box we never would have thought of it as individuals!
