Event description

Each year, parents who have experienced (and are experiencing) the child protection system gather with their allies.


We invite parents, alongside old and new allies, to discuss early support for families.


Hear from our panel of speakers including:

  • Parents + allies describe the quest for better:
    • Parents with lived experience of the child protection system
  • And allies from the child protection and family support system – incl:
    • Karyn Walsh, CEO, Micah Projects
    • Professor Jody Currie, Faculty of Health, Queensland University of Technology (QUT)
    • Professor kylie valentine, Director of the Social Policy Research Centre and the Centre for Social Research in Health at UNSW Sydney
    • Panel host – Jenny Whitworth, Coordinator, Family Inclusion Network (FIN), South East Queensland (an activity of Micah Projects)
