Global Women's Peace Network Oceania Virtual Webinar 2020
Event description
The GWPN Oceania virtual webinar will take place on Saturday 31st October, 2020 | 11–12:30pm AEST (Melbourne daylight saving time).
Theme: A snap shot of family domestic violence within Oceania. Representatives from nations within Oceania will share in reference to this issue and showcase solutions and best practices.
The Global Women’s Peace Network (GWPN), a project of WFWP International, was launched in 2012 by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon and her late husband the Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon, and has since been established in WFWP Chapters around the globe with key focus areas of action being: Women’s Leadership, Family and the Environment.
We are entering a new era where the role of women as peace builders in all sectors is needed more than ever. The COVID-19 crisis has created widespread disruption throughout the world. The disruption has impacted the lives of individuals, families and loved ones, and is affecting all sectors: religion, government, academia and education, business and the economy, the family, women and youth, the media, and the environment.
There are many who are asking “where do we go from here?” Is this time a potential turning point or transformative moment for our world? During this GWPN Oceania webinar, we will focus on the Family and the increase in domestic violence that governments have been reported since C19. Representatives from nations within Oceania will share in reference to this issue and showcase solutions and best practice.
