Geraldton Mayor's Prayer Breakfast 2027
Description
Geraldton Mayor's Prayer Breakfast is Geraldton Christians praying for their community and its leaders. Our, mayor Jerry Clune is delighted to once again be the patron for this event hosted by the Geraldton Ministers Fellowship. We invite you to be part of this year's prayer breakfast as we seek the welfare of our city by praying for our community and it leaders from industry, government, education, arts, sporting groups, social groups, medical, hospitality, and everyone who makes Geraldton the wonderful place that we enjoy living. We especially invite our community leaders to attend and network with other leaders.
This year we are honoured to have Luke Harris speak with us.

He might be the baby of his family, but that didn’t stop Luke Harris’ four older brothers begging him to cook them a steak or his signature gnocchi! Luke, 20, has since moved out of the family home in Geraldton to Perth, where he was studying a Bachelor of Education, focused on high school maths. On weekends, he sold veggies at the local farmers' markets, with the perk of keeping the leftovers to use for his own recipes.
Growing up, both Mum Eugenie and Dad Khim were strong cooking influences, teaching Luke different tricks in the kitchen. Don’t tell them, but he reckons he may now have surpassed their skills! They loved throwing dinner parties to impress friends, and as a kid, Luke enjoyed the theatrics of it all.
He learnt too from both his grandmas, as well as from YouTube and looked up to food idols Gordan Ramsay, Poh Ling Yeow and Jamie Oliver. As an avid MasterChef Australia viewer over the years, Luke always dreamt of earning a spot in the MasterChef kitchen, and now he has made it a reality, he hasn't squandered the opportunity.
Outside of the kitchen, Luke is a sports nut who loves his cricket and all things fitness, as well as fishing and camping, and works part-time with a youth camp organisation.
Whilst he can hold his own in the sweet arena, savoury cooking is more in Luke’s wheelhouse, but he prides himself on being a versatile cook. The more he cooks for family and friends, the more he understands the power of food to create joy and instant connection, with the ability to take tough days and turn them around.
Super ambitious and without the weight of experience to cloud his outlook, Luke rolled the dice in the kitchen as MasterChef’s youngest contender, backing himself and earning a place in the top 6 cooks of the 2026 MasterChef season.
